October's Monthly Fellowship!

Our October ladies fellowship is shaping up to be a great one! Join us in the church fellowship hall on Tuesday, October 20th @ 7PM for a devotion, some snacks, and great fellowship with other ladies! Mrs. Denise Winder will be giving us a time, date, and location for our annual ladies Christmas party. She has graciously volunteered to host it at her house. You don't want to miss this meeting! We hope to see you there!

Believing God Bible Study

Beth Moore's Believing God Bible Study is being offered this fall at the Cleveland YMCA. This study is based on Isaiah 43:10 and explores what it means to not only believe in God, but to believe Him. The times and dates are every Friday for 11 weeks beginning on August 28th from 10:15 AM - 12:30 PM. It is being led by Virginia LaRue & Edna Polier. The cost of the book is $15.00 (checks to be made out to First Baptist Church). Childcare is being offered by the YMCA. If your schedule permits, I encourage you to attend this study! Secret Sister Reveal & Gift Brunch!

The secret will be out on Saturday, August 29th! To be quite honest, I am anticipating this like a child in a candy store. The 1st year of our Secret Sister program has been amazing! We will reveal ourselves to our secret sister between 10:00 -11:30 AM! Won't it be great to find out who has been praying for you and thinking about you daily this past year. All ladies are encouraged to bring a brunch item to share with everyone along with an inexpensive gift for your Secret Sister. During this time, we will eat, have a brief devotion, and fill out forms for the 2009-2010 year. I look forward to seeing you @ 10:00 AM sharp!!

Stepping Up Bible Study

I wanted to let you know about a Bible Study being offered at the YMCA (Cleveland). It is Beth Moore's newest study out of Psalms titled Stepping Up! It started yesterday March 31st and will be every Tuesday until May 12th. I don't think it's to late to get involved. The study is being taught by Mrs. Edna Polier. The times are 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. The cost of the book is $13.00. Childcare is being offered by the YMCA. If your schedule permits, I encourage you to attend this study.

Returning Home!

Joe and I arrived home today from a bivocational pastors and wives conference. I had the privilege once again to hear Mrs. Jeanne Davis speak. During the ladies first session with her, she spoke on the topic "Learning to Laugh at Yourself". We laughed so hard our faces hurt. Proverbs 17: 22a says, A merry heart doeth good like a medicine...".

During our last session today, she spoke to the ministers' wives on the topic "It's OK to be Me". Sometimes as women we think our lives would be perfect if we were like __________, were married to _________, or if only our children were more like __________'s children, but in reality if those statements were true our lives would still not be perfect. What a valuable lesson that is to learn. It is OK to be you! Whether your a minister's wife, a homemaker, a Sunday school teacher, or CEO it's OK to be you. It's OK to be the lady God made you to be. God has a purpose and a plan for each of our lives individually.

I came back home refreshed. Mrs. Jeanne is always an encouragement to my heart. It is evident that God has His hand on her life. I want the ladies of our church to have the same opportunity to hear her as I have been blessed to have, so I have invited her to speak at our Mothers & Others Breakfast in May. I look forward to sharing her with our ladies. They will come away blessed, refreshed, and more than likely laughing. I can't wait until May. I am so excited about what the Lord has in store for us! I hope all of you are making preparations to come and bring a couple of ladies with you!
